DWI Task Force Sobriety Checkpoint

The Cape Girardeau Police Department, along with the Southeast Missouri DWI Task Force, will be conducting a DWI checkpoint within the month of September.
The area selected for the enforcement will be based on the number of crashes on the street, and the high number of contacts with drivers who have been drinking.
Removing impaired drivers from the roadway is one of the Cape Girardeau Police Department’s top priorities. If a person chooses to drink and drive, you will be arrested.
If your plans include alcohol, always have a sober designated driver. No warnings, no excuses. Driving drunk is simply not worth the risk, so don’t take the chance.
If you have any doubt about your sobriety, do not get behind the wheel of a vehicle.
