First-Ever Cape Girardeau Heritage Days Kicks off on Sept. 30

The first-annual Cape Girardeau Heritage Days will take place Sept. 30 through Oct. 2, 2016.
Enjoy free entry to Cape Girardeau’s historic attractions for a weekend of special activities and fun!  The LST Memorial 325 will also be visiting, and it will be an exciting time to be in downtown Cape Girardeau.
Heritage Days events kick off on Sept. 30 with a concert at the Common Pleas Courthouse Gazebo featuring music through the years by Dennis Stroughmatt and Creole Stomp, Steve Schaffner and Derrick Irwin, and the Jerry Ford Swing Band.
Saturday, Oct. 1, special presentations by historians, artists, and more will be given at various venues downtown and at local museums. Tea will be hosted a the Glenn House, in their carriage house – pre-registration is required.
On Sunday, Oct. 2, a period-style worship service will be held at Fort D Historic Site. Additional demonstrations, presentations and tours are planned.
