Arts Classes, Festival in Cape Girardeau, Summer 2016

finger-paint-cape-girardeauThe City of Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department is hosting/sponsoring many arts classes and events this summer! Join us for Young Actors Camp and Arting Around, Finger Painting and the Summer Arts Festival.
Young Actors Camp
For ages 6-15
Fees: $20 Cape Girardeau residents; $35 non-residents
Dates/Time: June 6-9, 9 a.m.-noon
Location: 4-H Exhibit Hall
Register by June 2
This camp is designed for children with all levels of theater experience. Your stars will gain quality dance, vocals, and acting knowledge through theater games and more! The camp culminates with a performance by the actors.
Arting Around
For ages 6-12
Fees: $20 Cape Girardeau residents; $35 non-residents
Session I: June 13-16, 9 a.m.-noon
Register by June 9
Session II: June 27-30, 9 a.m.-noon
Register by June 23
Location (both sessions): 4-H Exhibit Hall
Campers will explore art using many materials including paint, watercolors, tie dye, duct tape, and more. This is an instructional camp for those interested in art. Participants will complete a variety of different art projects.
Wee Ones Finger Painting
For ages 4-6
Fees: $10 Cape Girardeau residents; $13 non-residents
Class 1: June 14, 10-11 a.m.
Register by June 9
Class 2: June 14, 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Location: 4-H Exhibit Hall
Come use your fingers to create master piece! We will be painting a variety of different objects such as fish, trees, and birds! Please remember to wear your old clothes!
River Campus Summer Arts Festival
Come to Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus on June 18 for a summer day of live music, dance, theater, and visual art! Hands-on activities will be available. The festival is free and open to all ages from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Read more about the festival here.
