2016 Arbor Day Tree Planting in Cape Girardeau

4ArborDay 2016On Friday, April 1 (Missouri Arbor Day), the City of Cape Girardeau Tree Board, along with the Southeast Missouri State Horticultural Club and Missouri Department of Conservation, planted 10 trees at the quad ball field in the Arena Park Sports Complex off of Hawthorne Road.
The City of Cape Girardeau is a Tree City USA, having received that distinction for the last 18 years.  April 1 also kicked off the City’s celebration of “Keep Cape Beautiful” month.
If you would like to join in or volunteer this month, please contact the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department at 573-339-6340 and sign up for our “Friends of the Parks Day/Great Cape Clean-Up” event being held on Saturday, April 23. Remember, “If you care, please do your share,” and Keep Cape Beautiful!
