Cape Girardeau Public Works Staff Present on Feb. 29 Regarding Environmental Compliance

City of Cape Girardeau Public Works staff, including Director Steve Cook, Assistant Director Stan Polivick, Wastewater Treatment Coordinator Todd Fulton,  Stormwater/Sewer Maintenance Supervisor Stacey Beasley, Solid Waste Superintendent Mike Tripp, and Water Systems Manager with Alliance Water Kevin Priester, gave a detailed presentation to the regional office staff of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in Poplar Bluff on Feb. 29, 2016.
The presentation was on Environmental Compliance Efforts in Cape Girardeau. This presentation was done at the suggestion of Cook and with the cooperation of the Regional Department of Natural Resources Chief Jackson Bostic.
Approximately 15 DNR staff members attended the two-hour presentation covering Cape Girardeau’s efforts in environmental compliance. Topics included the Wastewater Treatment Plant and Lift Station SCADA upgrades; Sewer System I&I Program and Maintenance Activities; Solid Waste Division activities including the new Transfer Station, Recycling, Leaf Pick Up, and Flood Recovery Response;  Water System Operations; and the Stormwater Program, including MS4 Permit compliance and routine maintenance.
