The City of Cape Girardeau will host a public meeting on Monday, March 7 at 4 p.m. in the City Council Chambers to allow the top two Police Station Project Teams to present their qualifications and ideas for the new Police Station/Municipal Court building.
In December 2015, the City issued a Request for Proposals to solicit proposals from interested entities to enter into a Design-Build Contract to design and construct an addition and renovation for the Police Station. This facility, located at 2530 Maria Louise Lane, near Arena Park will include offices, municipal court and a jail.
Four project teams submitted proposals. A staff Selection Committee reviewed all the proposals and interviewed all four project teams. The Selection Committee evaluated each team based on their background, previous experience, key personnel, sub-consultants, demonstration of project understanding, and description of design approach.
The Selection Committee identified two top Project Teams: 1) Penzel/Holland/FGM/Dille Traxel; and 2) Kiefner Bros./Chiodini/GGA.
On Monday, March 7 at 4 p.m., each team will publicly present their proposals. Each team will have twenty minutes to present. At the conclusion of the presentations, there will be twenty minutes for a question and answer session. Staff will make a final recommendation to City Council by March 21st.
