Apr. 5 Election Absentee Ballots Available Feb. 23

voteAbsentee voting for the April 5, 2016 General Municipal Election begins Feb. 23, 2016. Absentee ballots can be voted in person at the Common Pleas Courthouse Annex, 44 N. Lorimier in Cape Girardeau, or the County Administration Building at 1 Barton Square, Suite 301, in Jackson.

Voters can request that absentee ballots be mailed to them by sending an absentee ballot request form to the County Clerk’s office by mail, email, or fax. An absentee ballot request form can be obtained from the County Clerk’s office or website (www.capecounty.us).
Sample ballots will be available to view on the Cape Girardeau County website by Feb. 23. The deadline to register to vote for the April election is March 9 by 5:00 p.m.

The Cape Girardeau County Clerk’s office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office is also open the Wednesday prior to the election until 5 p.m., the Saturday preceding the election from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the Monday before until 5 p.m.
