Three area cities and Southeast Missouri State University have joined together to sponsor two building code seminars on Feb. 4-5, 2016 at the Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau.
“These seminars will explain the primary differences between the 2009 and 2015 editions of International Building Code (IBC) and International Residential Code (IRC),” said Anna Kangas, Building and Code Enforcement Manager for the City of Cape Girardeau.
Registration is available to contractors, design professionals, City building inspectors, University building project managers, and the public at a minimal cost. Both seminars will be taught by International Code Council Instructor John M. Gibson.
Advanced registration is required due to space limitations. The registration fee is $50 per day, including required workbooks.
The Feb. 4 seminar focuses on transitioning from the 2009 to 2015 IBC, including relevant changes, and Feb. 5 focuses on transitioning from the 2009 to 2015 IRC. Cape Girardeau recently adopted the 2015 codes.
The cities of Cape Girardeau, Jackson, and Perryville, and Southeast Missouri State University are co-sponsoring the seminars. For more information, please call the City of Cape Girardeau Inspection Services Division at 573-339-6327.
