Fire at 3011 Themis, Apt. B – Nov. 5, 2015

The Cape Girardeau Fire Department was called to 3011 Themis at 2:10 for a smoke detector sounding in Apartment B. 5 Engine 1, the ladder truck, and a Battalion Chief were dispatched to the location. The first unit arrived and announced nothing showing from the exterior. After gaining access, they found smoke coming from underneath the door of Apartment B. They gained access to that apartment and found a small fire in the master bedroom bathroom. They extinguished the fire, while the other units evacuated the other 3 apartments and made sure there was no other fire extension. The smoke was removed from the structure. A smoke detector in the apartment alerted the neighbors to the fire in that apartment. All occupants were able to return to their apartments no one was displaced. There were no civilian injuries or firefighter injuries.
