Marking July as National Parks and Recreation month, several youth sports participants and mascot “Playmo” attended the July 6 City Council meeting. Mayor Harry Rediger presented a proclamation honoring the month’s theme during the meeting.
Since 1985, Americans have celebrated Parks and Recreation Month in July promoting the importance of parks and recreation in health and wellness, conservation and social equity, and recognizing thousands of park and recreation employee maintaining our nation’s local and community parks. This year, 2015, marks 30 years of Park and Recreation Month celebrations nationwide.
