Public Works staff were on hand at the May 18 City Council meeting to receive from Mayor Harry Rediger a proclamation honoring Public Works Week in Cape Girardeau, in conjunction with National Public Works Week (this week). NPWW celebrates the thousands of hard-working men and women providing and maintaining the infrastructure and services collectively known as public works. Instituted in 1960, NPWW reminds us that public works is important in community life, and honors the unsung heroes – the dedicated professionals of public works. Thanks, Public Works staff, for all you do!
