Get Prepared for Emergencies: CERT Classes Begin in February 2015

CERT-3Twenty hours may seem like a long time now, but what will the first 20 hours be like after an emergency if you’re not prepared?

Attending the free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training course this spring will help prepare you and your family should the need arise due to weather, earthquakes, or other disasters.

CERT training includes the following topics:

  • Disaster Preparedness
  • Disaster Fire Suppression
  • Disaster Medical Operations
  • Light Search & Rescue Operations
  • Disaster Psychology & Team Organization
  • Bio-Terrorism
  • Disaster Simulation

The next session begins on Feb. 24. Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 8 a.m.- 12 p.m. through March 24, at the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center.
