Almost 200 treatment facility operators from across the southeast Missouri region came to the Osage Centre in April for the Missouri Water and Wastewater Conference. Participants learned about upcoming changes to water and wastewater regulations as well as obtaining training hours needed for renewal of their Missouri Department of Natural Resource operator certifications.
City of Cape Girardeau employees and partners presented at the conference including our retired wastewater operator Jim Baylor and Alliance Water Resources Manager Kevin Priester. Topics included risk management, nitrogen, advanced math and more.
Since our city’s new wastewater treatment facility is a big deal with a big price tag it has already seen its fair share of local news coverage. We expect more wastewater industry pros will be visiting Cape from across the region once the state-of-the-art facility opens in fall.
