We offer several services and events to help keep Cape beautiful.
Leaf Pick Up
Rake those leaves to the curb now! Our leaf truck is still working its way around the city. Also consider buying our compost bags and arranging a pick up.
Free Annual Pick Up
You can also schedule a Wednesday special pick up. This service is provided for large, bulky items, including garage and basement debris. Details at cityofcape.org/solidwaste.
Adopt Streets & Parks
Our crews maintain 662.5 acres of park land and 215 miles of streets. It is a huge job and we can use your help. Contact us today if you’re interested in adopting a piece of your neighborhood.
Let us help if you’re having trouble with property code violations, noise or other nuisances in your area. Visit our website for more information.
From Keep Cape Beautiful to our Girardeau Goes Green committee, we offer several civic service opportunities for residents to take a leadership role in aesthetic and sustainability efforts. Visit cityofcape.org/yourgov for more information.

Roll-up your sleeves and put on your gloves to help us
clean up the banks of the Mighty Mississippi River! The
river is a great place to view wildlife, watch the river
flow, and just hang out – especially when it’s not being
obscured by trash. Meet at the Red Star Access pavilion
to bash trash. Participants may be transported by boat
to other areas of the riverbank. Call (573) 290-5218 to register.
Adult groups welcome.
