The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Foundation served a whopping 2,668 meals on Spaghetti Day last week.
It is all hands on deck the day of the event, and City staff and foundation volunteers prepare year round for this community favorite.
Proceeds from Spaghetti Day are used by the Foundation to enhance programs and facilities. The Foundation sponsors the new Glowball golf event, Doggy Swim Day and special holiday events, in addition to:
- Improvements to Capaha Field
- Inflatables for youth birthday parties and events
- New slide at Central Pool
- Special event enhancements such as tents, logo table cloths, banners, and more
The Parks and Recreation Foundation is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization created to assist the City of Cape Girardeau in providing for programs, facilities and equipment that may not be funded through limited city tax funds.
