Cheerleading, Tumbling Toddlers Classes Offered in October by Parks and Recreation

Cheerleading.3Cheerleading for ages 6-8 and Tumbling Toddlers for ages 4-6 begin in early October, offered by the City of Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department.

In the Cheerleading class, participants will learn cheer fundamentals including voice projection/dictation, sideline cheer techniques, proper hand and foot positioning and more. The group will learn several cheers and have lots of fun.  Classes will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Osage Centre, beginning on Oct. 1 and lasting through Oct. 22. Registration for Cheerleading is due on Sept. 23, and fees are $16 for Cape Girardeau residents and $20 for non-residents.

In Tumbling Toddlers, participants will complete basic tumbling such as headstands, cartwheels, and more, along with basic stretching techniques. For this class, parents are asked to make sure their child or children can participate independently. Classes will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Osage Centre, beginning on Oct. 2 and lasting through Oct. 23. Registration for Tumbling Toddlers is due on Sept. 23, and fees are $25 for Cape Girardeau residents and $30 for non-residents.
