18th Annual Autumn Open Four-Person Golf Scramble Begins Registration

Academy Sports + Outdoors and the Cape Girardeau Jaycee Municipal Golf Course will be hosting the 18th annual Autumn Open at 8 a.m. on Sept. 7. The tournament is a multiple flight, four-person golf scramble.

Cash prizes will be given to top three places within the three flights as well as additional prizes for closest to the pin, autumn open 2longest drive and the longest putt on par-3 holes. Prizes are $300 for first, $200 for second and $100 for third. Academy Sports and Outdoors is also offering a skins game with mulligans available, which is a 100 percent payout on any given hole for the lowest score.

Teams are four-person with entry fees ranging from $180 to $260. The entry fee plus two private carts is $180, the entry plus one private and one rented cart is $194, the entry fee plus two rental carts is $208 and the entry fee plus hole sponsorship and golf carts is $260.

The entry fee also includes a donut breakfast and free lunch.

The scramble is intended for adults, but children and coed teams may register. Women and senior citizens 70 years or older are permitted to use their designated starting spots.

Each year, approximately 30 teams compete and this year Academy Sports + Outdoors will be accepting up to 35 teams.

Register by Sept. 4 by picking up a form in the A. C. Brase Arena or the Cape Girardeau Jaycee
Municipal Golf Course. Teams must register together, and checks should be made out to the City of Cape Girardeau.
