Phase 2 of MoDOT's Roundabout Construction Begins Week of July 22 in Cape Girardeau

Information from a Missouri Department of Transportation Southeast District News Release
The second stage of construction for the roundabout at the Route W/Lexington Avenue/Kingsway Drive intersection in Cape Girardeau is scheduled to begin the week of July 22, weather permitting. During this phase of the project, the interior of the roundabout will be constructed.
On Sunday, July 21, crews will install signs and other traffic control devices overnight. Traffic control devices will be in place prior to morning traffic.
As work is underway, traffic on Lexington Avenue will be shifted toward Route W. This configuration will allow the contractor to build the remainder of the roundabout from the closed portion of Kingsway Drive without impacting through traffic on Lexington Avenue. In addition to the closure on Kingsway Drive, lane reductions on Mount Auburn Road will remain in place. Access to the trail will be available through the parking lot.
Construction of the interior of the roundabout will take approximately three weeks to complete.
