Southeast’s River Campus Announces 2013-14 Events in Cape Girardeau

Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus has announced their events for the upcoming 2013-2014 season. Shows like “Legally Blonde” and “West Side Story,” to showing a collection of Andy Warhol photographs, make sure that there is something for everyone this year at the River Campus in Cape Girardeau.

Legally Blonde: The Musical: Adapted from the hit film starring Reese Witherspoon, “Legally Blonde” follows the story of sorority girl Elle Woods, who decides to show her ex-boyfriend her serious side by following him to Harvard Law School. “Legally Blonde” will run Oct. 2-6.

Peter Pan: The classic children’s tale comes to life on the stage. Follow Peter, Wendy, Tinkerbell and the Lost Boys on their adventures in Never Never Land while always staying one step ahead of the evil Captain Hook. “Peter Pan” will run from Feb. 26-March 2, 2014.

The Sound of Christmas: Come and join The Carolian Brass, one of America’s finest brass quintets, as they pair up with vocalist and guitarist Elisabeth von Trapp, granddaughter of Baron and Maria von Trapp, the couple who inspired The Sound of Music. The Sound of Christmas will be on Dec. 5.

A juried exhibition featuring work from graphic design and illustration students from across the region with the goal of artistically communicating a famous quote. Dates: Nov. 4-21.

Symphony Sampler
A “mini” concert featuring brief selections from the upcoming season. Date: Sept. 22.

Andy Warhol Photographs
Come out and see 150 donated photographs from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, including Polaroids and gelatin silver prints of Carly Simon, Liza Minnelli, Truman Capote and other friends, patrons and anonymous models.

All of the River Campus’ art gallery and museum events are free and open to the public.
