Ward 5 Cape Girardeau City Council Representative Mark Lanzotti grew up in Central Illinois but also spent a good amount of time visiting relatives in Cape Girardeau as a child. Lanzotti graduated with two Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Illinois. He also received a Masters degree from the University of Texas. An interesting fact about Lanzotti is that he graduated with a Masters in marine science. From there he decided to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law.
As an attorney, in Cape Girardeau, Lanzotti finds helping individuals at a time of great need most satisfying.
“I enjoy the opportunity to influence decisions that will affect this community,” Lanzotti said.
As an attorney Lanzotti represents people with personal injury and medical negligence actions disability on a day to day basis. As a Council Representative, he strives to provide good leadership to all City of Cape Girardeau staff.
“At the end of the day, as a Councilman I try to provide leadership for the City by blending realities of needs, wants and desires, with financial stewardship with a sprinkling of politics,” said Lanzotti.
Most of Lanzotti’s spare time is spent with his three children. He has two sons and a daughter. He stays very active with his boys by coaching their two baseball teams. He also enjoys fishing and hunting.
