Absentee Voting for November Election

We’re less than a month away from Election Day. If you’re planning to be away from home on Nov. 6, you can vote using a Missouri Absentee Ballot. Absentee ballots are available on line in PDF form on the State of Missouri website. You need free Adobe Reader software on your computer to view the PDF document.

All absentee ballots must be mailed or faxed to Cape Girardeau County Clerk’s Office no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Voters requesting an absentee ballot by mail who have previously registered to vote and have not voted in person are required to submit a copy of their personal identification. This identification requirement, as well as a Notary Public signature for absentee ballots, must be mailed in together. The Customer Service Office at City Hall offers Notary services, as well as some local banks.

Do not send absentee ballot applications to the Secretary of the State’s office. Absentee ballot applications must be sent to the appropriate local election authority by the deadline in order to be valid.
