Many Competitors Partake in Coors Light Triathlon

The 22nd Annual Coors Light Triathlon was held Sept. 15 at Trail of Tears State Park. Many competitors of all ages came to participate in each event, which included biking, swimming and running.

In the male division, Elliot Shearon took first place overall, just ahead of Taylor Vaughan, the second place competitor. Both male participants represented Cape Girardeau, Mo. and were followed by third place competitor, Gabe Runyon, representing Ste. Genevieve, Mo.

Jennifer Meyer of St. Louis took first overall in the female division. She was closely followed in second by Roxanne Wegman of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.  Regina Kaplan-Rakowski, representative of Murphysboro,Tenn., finished third.

Mueller-Aldridge-Hammes finished first for the coed teams, followed by St. Louis team, Drefus-Fischer-Fischer, who came in second. Cape Girardeau competitors, Ogburn-Salter-Kinder, finished third, and Cunningham-Briggs came in fourth.

In the female team division, Maroscher-Smith took first. Fitzgerald-Mitchell of Sikeston, Mo. came in second.

In the male team division, Welker-Lachenmayr took first. Hasheider-Hann of Cape Girardeau came in second.
