Fall Frolic on Sept. 3 at Red House Interpretive Center in Cape Girardeau

Visit Fort D on Labor Day, then travel a few blocks north for Fall Frolic at the Red House Interpretive Center, 128 Aquamsi Street, in Cape Girardeau.

The Red House will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 3.

The Red House commemorates the life of community founder Louis Lorimier, as well as the visit of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark in November 1803. The Red House has an early 1800s exhibit reflecting the lives of early Cape Girardeau settlers. A rendering of Lorimier’s Trading Post displays authentic items that would have been sold at the turn of the 19th century.
