Members Needed for Girardeau Goes Green Board Education Focus Group

The Girardeau Goes Green Advisory Board is looking for Cape Girardeau citizens to volunteer on the new education focus group.

Member Sam Blackwell said the board decided they needed a new focus group to help spread the information they’ve uncovered about conservation measures within the City.

“We currently have focus groups working on energy, waste management, outdoor sustainability and transportation issues,” Blackwell said. “The education group will work on getting out their findings.”

The transportation group of the Green Board has recently taken on some of the responsibility of spreading green education throughout the City. The group compiled a list of green tips for residents, Blackwell said.

Members of the education focus group will meet once a month and work distributing information about ways to “go green” in Cape.

The focus groups are open to anyone and no application process is required.
