Women’s History Event at Cape River Heritage Museum April 13

Dr. Jane Stephens, Provost Emeritus of Southeast Missouri State University, will present a program entitled “Women’s Changing Expectations: From Abigail to Hilary” during a Women’s History Celebration, Friday April 13, from 5-7 pm at the Cape River Heritage Museum, 538 Independence Street, in Cape Girardeau.

The League of Women Voters and the museum are co-sponsors of the event highlighting women’s achievements.

Dr. Stephens is a former history professor and the first women to serve as Provost of the University. Because of her strong commitment to excellence in academics, the Jane Stephens Honors Program bears her name. A reception will follow Dr. Stephens’ presentation. Refreshments will be served, and there will be time for questions and discussion.

The event is free and open to everyone. For more information, contact Dr. Bonnie Stepenoff at 573-334-0405, or bstepenoff@hotmail.com.
