Mayor, Council Thanks Tracy for Service to Cape Girardeau

Mayor Harry Rediger presented former Ward 3 City Council Member Deb Tracy with a proclamation honoring her seven years representing Cape Girardeau’s residents at the Monday, April 16 City Council meeting.

Below, new Mayor Pro Tempore John Voss congratulates Tracy on her accomplishments and years of service. Tracy was recently succeeded by new Ward 3 representative Trent Summers, who was elected in April 2012.

Tracy was instrumental in several beneficial projects for the region, and active with several organizations including the Southeast Missouri State University River Campus project; development of Menards, Blair Best Box, Kohls, and NARS Call Center; creation of the Cape Girardeau County Transit Authority; implementation of the Keep Southeast Missouri Beautiful Initiative; City Master Plan Review Committee; Park Development Foundation; Girardeau Goes Green Advisory Board; construction of Cape Splash and the Shawnee Park Center; and adoption of a new City Comprehensive Plan and Downtown Strategic Plan, to name a few.
