The sign up deadline is approaching for the third annual Girls Softball League, for ages 5 to 15 in Cape Girardeau.
A $10 late registration fee will be added after April 11. The entry fee will cover the cost for a 10-12 game schedule, uniform shirt, ASA team registration, and all team playing equipment (excluding gloves). All games will be played at the Arena Park softball fields, beginning at the end of May and will run through the end of July.
Players 9-15 years of age will be required to attend a pre-season skills test. Players will be tested on hitting, fielding, throwing, base-running, and pitching (if interested). Skills tests will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 5; Monday, April 9; and Wednesday, April 11. All skills testing will take place at the Arena Park softball fields. Players should come equipped to play on one of these dates.
Registration forms are available at the A. C. Brase Arena, Osage Centre, and Shawnee Park Center, as well as online at www.cityofcape.org/softball. Registration forms can be turned in at the A. C. Brase Arena or at any of the skills testing sessions.
