County Transit Authority Rate Increase Public Hearing 3/23

At a recent City Council meeting, the Cape Girardeau County Transit Authority informed City government leaders that they intend to implement a rate increase for both bus and taxi service effective April 1. There will be a public hearing to discuss the proposed rate increase on March 23 at 1 p.m. at the CGCTA office at 937 Broadway.

While the City of Cape Girardeau does not manage the public transit system anymore, the City is among several agencies that support the CGCTA financially. Those organizations include the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT), SEMO Area Agency on Aging (AAA), the Cape Girardeau County Commission, the Cape Girardeau County Senior Citizen Service Fund, and the City of Jackson.
