The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce they will be offering the third annual Girls Softball League for ages 5 – 15 this summer. There will be five separate age divisions, beginning with Instructional (t-ball) for 5-6 year-olds, Rookie (coach pitch) for 7-8 year-olds, AA for 9-10 year-olds, AAA for 11-12 year-olds, and Majors for 13-15 year-olds. The cost for the league is $50 per player.
A $10 late registration fee will be added after April 11. The entry fee will cover the cost for a 10-12 game schedule, uniform shirt, ASA team registration, and all team playing equipment (excluding gloves). All games will be played at the Arena Park softball fields. Players 9-15 years of age will be required to attend a pre-season skills test. Players will be tested on hitting, fielding, throwing, base-running, and pitching (if interested). Skills tests will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 5; Monday, April 9; and Wednesday, April 11. All skills testing will take place at the Arena Park softball fields. Players should come equipped to play on one of these dates. Games are set to begin at the end of May and will run through the end of July.
