Adult and Youth Tennis Classes
As the spring season approaches, the City of Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department is offering tennis classes for adults, ages 18 and up, and children ages 8-10 years old. The tennis classes are open to all skill levels. An instructor will focus on improving proper grip, stance, swing, serve and ball placement as well as hitting with control for depth and power.
Classes are on Thursdays beginning March 15 and finishing April 5. Youth tennis classes are from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and adult tennis classes will be 6:45 to 8 p.m. at A.C. Brase Arena tennis courts.
Registration is $20 for residents and $25 for non-residents. All participants must register by Tuesday, March 13. Attendees should bring their own tennis racket, water and appropriate clothing.

Tennis Play Day
Play Days are events designed to introduce kids to competition in a low-pressure setting where results are not documented. These events provide kids with the opportunity to continue to develop and enhance their skills. From a novice to an experienced player, a Play Day is a welcoming way for kids to experience the social and competitive aspects of tennis. Organized by skill level, kids have the chance to gain additional play experience by rotation of opponents and short, continuous matches over a two to three hour period. Play Days promote a sense of achievement through a fun and spirited atmosphere.
