Quantella Anderson-Noto has been named to chair the Advisory Council of the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau. Ms. Anderson-Noto will assume her duties as of January 1, 2012.
The mission of the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau is to promote the city of Cape Girardeau for the purpose of economic development through increased business and recreational tourism.
The Advisory Council is comprised of a number of community leaders including Immediate Past Chairman Greg Williams, Tim Arbeiter, Tracey Glenn, Scott House, Randy Kluge, Justin Medley, John Mehner, Joel Neikirk, Earl Norman, David Ross, Loretta Schneider, John Voss, and Angie Wilson.
Ms. Anderson-Noto is Director of the Hospitality Management Program at Southeast Missouri State University; Cape Girardeau, MO. Besides providing full-time instruction, her responsibilities include providing leadership with curriculum development, advising and mentoring students and maintaining a liaison with the hospitality industry. Ms. Anderson-Noto previously served as an Instructor at Strafford College, Falls Church, VA, in the Culinary Arts/ Hospitality Management department. She has held several positions in the lodging and foodservice industry prior to her teaching, including group sales and corporate sales manager of business and international travel, convention services manager, and assistant front-desk manager.
Ms. Anderson-Noto graduated Cum Laude from East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management and she received her Masters of Tourism Administration from The George Washington University School of Business & Public Administration. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Ms. Anderson has held membership in several prestigious organizations including: Les Dames D’ Escoffier, St. Louis Chapter; CHRIE (Council on Hotels, Restaurants and Institutional Education); Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE); Network of Executive Women in Hospitality, and the American Hotel and Lodging Foundation Scholarship Alumni Association.
