Police Lieutenant Seeking Support for Special Olympics

Lieutenant John Davis of the Cape Girardeau Police Department, like many of his colleagues, will be participating in the Feb. 4, 2012 Polar Bear Plunge to raise money for the Special Olympics.

There are 1,100 southeast Missouri special athletes and over 15,000 across the state. Last year, the plunge raised over $47,000 to support the program. Special Olympics athletes compete in athletic competition all year long in sports that include softball, tennis, softball, golf, swimming, bowling, basketball, and many, many more.
