Sept. 27, 2011: The Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control conducted a free training opportunity for servers of alcoholic beverages. The training covered a wide range of topics, including: service limitations, identification of customers who may have consumed too much alcohol, methods of dealing with intoxicated individuals and techniques for spotting fraudulent IDs. The training was held at the OsageCenter in Cape Girardeau. The training was supported by funding made available through a Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention Act Grant Program administered by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Missouri Department of Public Safety, Office of the Director, and the Juvenile Justice Advisory Group. Along with ATC, the Cape Girardeau Police Department and the Cape Girardeau Safe Communities Program sponsored the training.
