Storm drain pipe liner installation will close a portion of Broadway in Cape Girardeau next week. The affected portion of Broadway is between Lorimier and Main streets.

Work will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 22 and is anticipated to be complete on Wednesday, Sept. 23, weather permitting. Work will be continuous until complete to minimize disruptions. Detours will be marked for drivers in the area around the work zone. As always, drivers are asked to use caution in the area.

This is segment one of a two-segment process. During the project, contractor SAK will install the liner in the 42-inch storm drain pipe at this location. Work is related to the City’s maintenance responsibility along the floodwall and its components. The drain being lined serves the area along and around the eastern end of Broadway, and it drains into the Mississippi River. Stage two of the project will progress once river levels have reached even lower stages.
