Work by contractor Nip Kelley Equipment Company to complete pedestrian bridge construction connecting the northern end of the Riverwalk Trail to the Missouri Department of Conservation Red Star Boat Access area began Oct. 15.

Work is expected to last about two months, subject to weather and high river level delays. No pedestrian or bicycle access will be allowed in the construction zone. The walkway will be closed north of the Broadway flood wall gate. Pedestrian access to the southern portions of the Riverwalk will still be available during construction.

The work being completed is phase four of the Riverwalk Project. Another part of this phase added about 1,300 feet on the southern end of the Riverwalk earlier this year.
