Overbeck Named Operator of the Year, Osage Centre Hosts Missouri Water and Wastewater Conference

Congratulations to Quentin Overbeck of the City of Cape Girardeau Public Works Department, this year’s Southeast Section of the Missouri Water and Wastewater Conference (MWWC) Operator of the Year. Overbeck has worked for the City for four years, and he is currently the Chief Operator of the Wastewater Treatment Facility. The Operator of the Year award was created to recognize operators that have shown outstanding performance and dedication in their field. The Southeast Section of the covers 23 counties in Southeast Missouri. 

Overbeck, at right, was named the Southeast Section of the Missouri Water and Wastewater Conference Operator of the Year at a recent conference.

On April 20, the Osage Centre played host to more than 150 people from all over Southeast Missouri as they attended the 69th Annual Missouri Water and Wastewater Southeast Section Conference. Classes were held on pumps, sewer, water, safety and Department of Natural Resources updates. The Osage Centre’s gym was be filled with exhibitors showcasing products. This is an annual opportunity for people in the sewer and water business to learn and network with others. A committee with representatives from the cities of Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Perryville, and Parma, DNR and Visu-Sewer work together to make this event happen.

More than 150 people attended the conference, held at the Osage Centre.
