The City of Cape Girardeau is applying for Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant funding for design and construction of sidewalks in two locations:
- independence Street from East Rodney (west side) through the new roundabout to Independence (south side) to the Cape LaCroix Recreation Trail. Provisions are being made with the new roundabout construction so that the roundabout is “sidewalk ready” meaning cutouts will be in the splitter islands and grading within the project limits will take place.
- Cape Rock Drive (west and north sides) from Kingshighway to Perryville Road with a connecting sidewalk on Brookwood to connect to Dennis Scivally Park. Pedestrian access across Kingshighway will not be constructed at this time, but would be a future project.
Design and construction of both of these sidewalk projects, at this time, is dependent on the City being awarded a TAP grant. We would like your feedback on the following questions.
Your time and effort to complete this short survey is appreciated! Form feedback will be collected through Oct. 28. For more information about the survey or the grant process, please contact Development Services at 573-339-6327.
