Major Case Squad Disbands, Shooting in 1200-Block of South Ellis Street

With regard to the Sept. 28, 2016, shooting death of Brent Johnson, the Cape Girardeau and Bollinger County Major Case Squad has disbanded per the 72-hour standard activation period. A person of interest is in custody on unrelated charges in another jurisdiction. At this time, the Cape Girardeau Police Department continues to conduct a follow-up investigation.
