July 4 Fireworks on the River at Cape Girardeau (2014)

Bill Emerson Memorial BridgeFourth of July fireworks will return to Cape Girardeau’s downtown riverfront for 2014. The display will take place on Friday, July 4 in cooperation with Isle Casino Cape Girardeau, the Southeast Missourian, and the City of Cape Girardeau.

The Southeast Missourian will present the “Spirit of America” award at 8 p.m. in front of the Common Pleas Courthouse, with music by the Jerry Ford Patriotic Band. The fireworks will begin about 9:15 p.m.

Water and Spanish streets will close early to accommodate pedestrians attending the event. Main Street will remain open to vehicular traffic.
